Well, you’re in luck because I started this blog to provide you with information that you can use to improve your gut and hormonal health. But why take my word for it?
Hormonal and digestive upset. It wasn’t pretty. Doubled over in pain, not being able to keep food in my stomach for more than half an hour. Painful acne made me avoid eye contact. Many frustrating nights were spent tossing and turning. I gained weight, I felt sluggish. Dragging my heavy, weary body around was exhausting. I struggled with these symptoms for years, saw several doctors, was prescribed various medications (namely laxatives and birth control), and found little relief. Nothing really worked long-term.
I began working with a health coach who showed me how to eat to ease my symptoms. She recommended supplements, helped me to recognize and remove trigger foods, and supported me in changing my diet and lifestyle. With a degree in psychology, I realized I wanted to support people in achieving their health goals too. I went on to take courses in biology and chemistry at a local community college and then obtained my Master’s in the Science of Nutrition from the National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon.
Through my educational experience and trials with my own health, I formed some basic standards that I wish to share with you, my reader:

One of the obstacles I experienced was navigating my way through the allopathic healthcare system and weeding out well-intended advice that did not work for me and had side effects. It wasn’t until I took matters into my own hands that I began to see real improvements in my health.
